Aset is one of the Ennead, or Nine major Gods &
Goddesses of Egypt. She is known for Her adept skills at Magic and for being the "Mother" to turn to. Well, personally I have
found that aspect of Her. She shows the strength a mother has when defending Her family and their unity. As seen when Heru
(Horus) fought His uncle Set for ruling authority over Egypt.
Aset's magical skills are brought to the fore when She searches for Wesir (Osiris)
Her brother and husband, after Set kills and dismembers Him, spreading His body parts all over Egypt. Aset along with Her
sister Nebet-Het (Nephthys), She searched for His body and after, fashioning a substitute body part, turned Herself into a
Kite (falcon-like bird) and breathed life in His body to conceive Heru.
Aset was adopted by many other cultures and countries and is even aligned
with Mary, Mother of Jesus and Queen of Heaven in Christianity. Hence Her title of Goddess of Ten Thousand Names. The Romans,
Greeks and even the Celts had Aset assimilated into their pantheons. The Greeks named Her Isis, and the Romans Iseum.
Aset, over the years, has shown me many aspects of Herself. She is a
tough but loving Goddess. She will call a spade a spade, will not hesitate in delivering a cosmic bitchslap when She feels
it is necessary, teach the "hard" lessons in life and She WILL guide you to a rich and spiritually fulfilling life. It's not
easy being Her child, and She is not the cooing "mummy" Goddess to go running to when you've had enough. She's more the kind
to administer "tough love" and tell you that "You fucked up, you fix it". But the hard work pays off and the results are phenomenal.
